Medina airport caters primarily for religious travel including Hajj and Umrah as well as scheduled international and domestic flights. The new development shall integrate with existing airport facilities and bring the airport capacity to 16 million passengers. A simple coherent layout with well defined routes for passenger circulation provides operational efficiency, flexibility and expansion potential.
There have been 11 Ancillary buildings built within the new development. (ARFF Building, Bachelor House, Family House, Dog Kennel, Gate Building,Guard Cantonment, Hajj Check-In Building, Masjid, Ministry of Hajj, Hajj Pavillions, Waste Management Building)
