I worked at Riyadh King Khalid International Airport Terminal 5 Project for GMW MIMARLIK who is the Lead Designer; and then after the completion of the design services I worked for the Contractor, TAV Construction at Site Design Office.
The existing four terminal buildings serve 13 million international and domestic passengers per year. Terminal 5 is expected to increase the annual capacity by circa 14 million passengers.
Terminal 5 is designed to handle only domestic passengers within the first 4 years after completion and to handle only international passengers thereafter. Therefore the design of the terminal aims to provide a modular, flexible, adaptable and expandable framework with enhanced passenger comfort and operational efficiency.
The Project consists of a 106000 m² rectangular processing building  and 460m linear Pier with 16 flexible contact gates, 3-storey Car Park building with 3000 vehicle capacity, ARFF building, AOCC building, Gate building, Supply building and Site works.
